Rufunsa Game Management Area is roughly 3225 sq kms, and is situated alongside the Zambezi River and escarpment, at the confluence of the Luangwa and Zambezi River’s. With vegetation being typically Mopani woodland and thick Jesse bush. The area is mountainous and the hunting is challenging and VERY exciting.
There are some superb quality trophy species that typically enjoy thick vegetation, such as Kudu, Bushbuck, Buffalo, Sharpes Grysbok and Leopard. It’s important to note that due to the management area being under hunted for some years the leopard population has increased, and there are some amazing trophies on offer. The location of the Zambezi river also ensures great hunting for Crocodile and Hippo.
With the introduction of catch and release the Tiger fishing is also fantastic!
Situated in a beautiful location on the banks of the river, the camp consists of 3 permanent chalets all of which are en-suite. A dining room / Lapa area with a magnificent view of the river.
It is secluded and extremely comfortable with excellent chefs on hand to prepare meals and ensure all the client’s needs are met.
Wi Fi is available in camp so you can keep in contact with the outside world if required.
How to get there:
Rufunsa is a very convenient distance from the capital Lusaka. Driving to the camp will take approx. 5 hours and it is also possible to charter a flight to the local airstrip which will get you in to the bush in less than 40 minutes.
